SESSION TIMES:

Thurs 9.45am Sat 9.30am with Angeline the Disco Queen

SHAKE AND STOMP is a music appreciation class for 2 - 5 year olds. It is taught by Angeline Neville who is an early childhood educator as well as an accomplished musician. In her experience in child care Angeline has developed some great fun songs and some quirky twists on old favourites.  Our classes run for 45 mins. Classes are Thursday 9.45am and Saturday at 9.30am.

Shake and Stomp is an unstructured class where the kids can just dance and sing without any level of expectation. They are presented with musical concepts such as tempo, pitch and melody through play. We also provide instruments, including mini djembes and clapping sticks and kids and parents all come together to make a lot of noise!

We also have a short video clip about the class on YouTube;

Shake and Stomp F.A.Q.

What is Shake and Stomp?

Shake and Stomp is a music appreciation class for 2-5 year olds (this age group is a very loose indication, younger children are more than welcome to come and check it out! :) The class is designed as an introduction to music where the kids are exposed to the fundamentals of music such as tempo and melody, in a fun, loosely structured class. Our teacher Angeline, sings old favourites with a new twist as well as Shake and Stomp originals. So there's lots of dancing and singing and we have little djembes (African drums) as well as other percussive instruments for the kids to have a jam! Parents have a lot of fun too.

Who teaches the class?

Our teacher and creator of the program is Angeline the Disco Queen, who is an early childhood educator for half of the week and a Shaker and Stomper for the other half. Angeline has also done a musical theatre course at WAAPA and is a professional musician. Through her years of experience in childcare Angeline has designed a great program that the kids love.
